The 9:9:9 portal and eclipse tarot reading: health, career, love and spirit
11-Sep-2025
In early September 2025 two things arrived close together: the total lunar eclipse of 7 September and the 9:9:9 portal on 9 September 2025. I sat with my cards and asked one question for each of the four areas I feel make up a life: health, career and abundance, relationships, and the spiritual path. This post is the archive of that reading, card by card, with the affirmation I gave for each.
Even though that week has passed, the messages are general enough to return to. I explain how at the end.
What the 9:9:9 portal is
In numerology, 9 is the number of completion. It is the last of the single digits, so it carries the sense of a cycle closing and of letting go before something new begins. A "portal" date is simply a day when a number repeats, here the ninth day of the ninth month in a year that also reduces to 9 (2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 9). Many people use these dates as a pause to reflect and set intentions.
Eclipses carry a similar mood in astrology. A lunar eclipse falls on a full moon and is often read as a time when things come to the surface, so we can see them clearly and release what is finished. Put together, it felt like a good moment to look honestly at each part of life.
Part 1: Health, the Six of Wands
I dedicated this first section to my yoga teacher, as it fell around Teachers' Day.
The Six of Wands is a card of progress and quiet victory. For health it points to self-care that is starting to pay off: recovery, growing strength and renewed confidence in your body. It also speaks of recognition for the effort you have put into healing, even if the only person who notices is you.
Affirmation: "I celebrate my body's strength and embrace radiant health. Every step I take leads me to complete well-being."
Part 2: Career and abundance, the Page of Wands
The Page of Wands is the card of beginnings: new opportunities, fresh ideas and passion projects asking for your attention. In this reading it was a manifestation card for abundance.
For career, it says explore, learn and take bold steps, but take calculated risks and stay out of arguments. For money and business, it shows seeds being planted. Stay optimistic, act on your plans, and start with small steps and small investments. Play safe, but do act. Consistency is the key.
The reminder: follow your passion, and balance the excitement with planning.
Affirmation: "I empower myself to be in the energies of taking right and consistent actions on my idea of abundance and career path."
Part 3: Relationships, the Six of Swords
The Six of Swords shows a journey across water, away from rough shores towards calmer ones. In relationships it signals moving away from past difficulties towards healthier connections. It asks you to leave behind old baggage that no longer serves you and to move into a phase of peace and understanding.
It can also mean moving inwards. If you are unsure whether to stay in a relationship, take time to reflect, then have honest conversations, first with yourself and then with the other person. Respecting your own feelings is the key here.
Affirmation: "I release the past with love and move into relationships filled with harmony, healing and trust."
Part 4: The spiritual path, The Fool
I think the spiritual path is one of the most important parts of life and one of the least spoken about. The card that came was The Fool.
The Fool is the first card of the Major Arcana: a leap of faith into the unknown, guided by trust, curiosity and openness. It marks a new phase of learning, unlearning, releasing and realising. In this reading it also pointed to ancestral callings, a time to thank, release and acknowledge our family tree. The wider energy of 2025 seemed to be guiding many of us to make spirituality a way of living, right in the middle of a very intense year.
Affirmation: "I step into my spiritual journey with trust and openness, guided by divine light and infinite possibilities."
Guidance for the eclipse season
A few days later I recorded a longer message for the eclipse season, touching on shadow work and ancestral wounds. If the Fool's call to look at your lineage spoke to you, my post on the Pitra Paksh ritual is a gentle next step, as that fortnight followed soon after.
How to use this reading now
A reading tied to a date is a snapshot of the energy at that time, but its themes can still guide you:
- Read the four sections and notice which one you react to most. That is usually the area asking for attention.
- Write that card's affirmation on a card or in your journal, and say it each morning for nine days, a nod to the number 9.
- Pair it with one small action: a walk for health, one step on a plan for career, one honest conversation for love, ten quiet minutes for the spirit.
What this reading is not
A general reading speaks to collective energy, not to your personal chart or situation. The health card is about self-care and encouragement; it does not replace your doctor, and the career card is not financial advice. Please speak to a professional for medical, money or legal decisions.
