Simple daily remedies for each planet in your birth chart
29-Jul-2026
Sometimes a reading shows that one planet in your chart is weak or under pressure. Astrologers call it "malefic" for you. That word can sound frightening, but it only means that the area of life linked to that planet may ask for more patience and care.
The good news is that the remedies do not have to be complicated or expensive. In the tradition I follow, small and consistent remedies performed with sincerity are considered more meaningful than occasional elaborate rituals.
The nine planets and a daily remedy for each
Vedic astrology works with nine grahas: the seven visible planets and the two lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu. Here is one simple practice for each.
- Sun (Surya): offer water to the rising Sun every morning. The Sun relates to confidence, health and your relationship with father figures.
- Moon (Chandra): drink water from a silver glass, and practise gratitude towards your mother. The Moon governs the mind and emotions.
- Mars (Mangal): feed jaggery to a cow, or chant the Hanuman Chalisa. Mars rules energy, courage and temper.
- Mercury (Budh): feed green fodder to a cow, or feed birds. Mercury governs speech, learning and business.
- Jupiter (Guru): offer turmeric to a banana plant every Thursday. Jupiter is the planet of wisdom, teachers and growth.
- Venus (Shukra): keep your surroundings clean, and offer white flowers to Goddess Lakshmi. Venus relates to love, beauty and comfort.
- Saturn (Shani): light a sesame oil lamp under a Peepal tree on Saturdays. Saturn is the planet of discipline, work and karma.
- Rahu: feed stray dogs or birds regularly. Rahu relates to desire, illusion and sudden change.
- Ketu: feed stray dogs, and spend a few minutes each day in silent meditation. Ketu relates to detachment and the spiritual.
You do not need to do all nine. Choose the one or two for the planets your reading points to.
More easy ways to balance your planets
In this earlier video I share more easy and practical tips for shifting the planetary patterns in your horoscope. They follow the same idea: everyday actions you can fit into a normal day.
Many of these remedies sit close to the Lal Kitab way of working, which favours simple, practical acts, often involving kindness to animals, nature and the people around you.
Charging your Venus mount: a palm-care ritual
In palmistry, the fleshy pad at the base of your thumb is called the Mount of Venus. It is linked with love, warmth, enjoyment and the flow of abundance.
This one sounds like winter skincare, and it is, with an intention added:
- Choose a fragrant cream based on milk, honey or sugar. These ingredients are traditionally connected with Venus and sweetness.
- Every day, apply it to your hands, paying gentle attention to the base of each thumb.
- As you do, hold the thought that abundance is welcome in your life.
- Keep your hands moisturised and cared for, and notice how you feel over the weeks.
Why predictions don't always work for you
People sometimes tell me a prediction did not come true for them. In this video I explain why. A chart shows potential and timing, but how it plays out also depends on you: your emotional patterns, your inner child wounds, your past-life baggage and your ancestral patterns. When those blocks are understood and worked on, remedies and guidance can land more easily.
That is why I always encourage people to look inwards as well as at the planets. Knowing yourself is part of the remedy.
How to practise a remedy well
- Pick one remedy and do it for at least forty days.
- Be consistent. Same time, same way, if you can.
- Do it with feeling. A remedy done in a hurry, without attention, loses its meaning.
- Observe. Keep a short note of how you feel and what shifts.
What remedies are not
These remedies are spiritual practices for steadiness and reflection. They are not a cure for illness or a solution to money or legal trouble, and they never replace a doctor or the right professional. Please be kind and safe with animals: offer only food that suits them. And never let anyone frighten you into buying costly remedies.
