Your personal year number for 2026, and simple rituals to make the most of it

15-Jun-2026

Your life path number stays with you for life. Your personal year number changes every year, and it tells you what kind of year you are in: one for starting, one for building, one for closing. Knowing it helps you work with the year instead of against it.

Here is how to work out yours for 2026, what it means, and the small rituals I shared through the year to support it.

How to calculate your personal year

Add your day of birth, your month of birth and the current year, then reduce the total to a single digit.

For example, someone born on 19 February:

  • 19 + 2 + 2026
  • 1 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 22
  • 2 + 2 = 4

So their personal year for 2026 is 4.

Your year of birth is not used, only the day and month. If you would like to understand the number that stays with you for life, my post on calculating your life path number explains it step by step.

What each personal year means

  • Personal year 1: big new beginnings.
  • Personal year 2: partnerships matter.
  • Personal year 3: visibility and communication.
  • Personal year 4: structure your vision.
  • Personal year 5: big changes.
  • Personal year 6: family and responsibilities.
  • Personal year 7: an inner, spiritual reset.
  • Personal year 8: a year of financial focus and personal power.
  • Personal year 9: closure and karmic endings.

Read your number as a theme, not a rule. A 4 year does not mean nothing new can happen; it means the year rewards structure, routine and steady work.

Five energy boosters for the year

On the first day of 2026 I shared five energy boosters for the year. Watch them alongside your personal year number and notice which one speaks most to your theme. That is the one to practise first.

A family ritual to welcome the new year

At the end of 2025 I shared a ritual to do together as a family. Sit down with everyone and let each person answer five questions:

  1. What is your one greatest learning of 2025?
  2. What has been your one biggest success or proud moment of 2025?
  3. What is the one thing or positive habit you want to carry forward into 2026?
  4. What is the one mistake you don't want to repeat, or the negativity you don't wish to take into 2026?
  5. What is your one big goal for 2026?

Write the answers on a single sheet or board, together. Yellow is a lovely colour for this, as it is linked with optimism and abundance. Keep it where the family will see it. This becomes your family vision board, quietly working on everyone's subconscious through the year. It is also a beautiful way to hear what the people closest to you are hoping for.

The February 2026 triple portal

On 17 February 2026 a solar eclipse fell on a new moon, on the same day the Chinese Fire Horse year began. The Fire Horse comes round only once in sixty years, so this felt like a rare alignment for setting intentions.

The ritual I shared had three steps:

  1. On 17 February: release. Write down what you want to let go of, and burn the paper safely.
  2. On 17 February: set goals. Write down what you want to call in.
  3. From 18 to 20 February: plan your action. Turn those goals into concrete next steps.

You can repeat this rhythm on any new moon: release, set the goal, then plan the action within three days.

A five-day plan to manifest your aspirations

In June I shared a short plan you can begin on any day.

Days 1 to 3: plan and act.

  • Write down what you aspire to.
  • Make a road map.
  • Take action, even if only baby steps.
  • Journal each day to build a record.

Days 4 and 5: release.

  • Write down every fear, limiting belief and self-doubt around these aspirations. Use the same sheet on both days.
  • On the evening or night of the second day, burn it safely to ashes and blow the ashes out to the universe.

After that: manifest.

  • Use the clearer, empowered thoughts that are left once the blocks are released.
  • Practise them through water manifestation, by journalling, by saying them aloud, or by speaking to yourself in the mirror.

What numerology is not

Your personal year shows a theme and a rhythm. It does not decide what happens to you, and a "financial year" is not a promise of money. For decisions about health, money or the law, please speak to the right professional. And when you burn paper, use a metal bowl, keep water nearby and never leave a flame unattended.
