Portal days: 11:11, 12:12, 8:8, 999 and what to do on them

09-Aug-2026

Have you ever looked at the clock and seen 11:11, or 12:39, and felt a little nudge? Many people do. In numerology and in modern manifestation practice, dates and times where numbers repeat are called "portals": moments that feel especially good for pausing, letting go and setting intentions.

I don't think the calendar does the work for us. What a portal day does well is remind us to stop and be deliberate. Here are the practices I share for each one.

What a portal is

In numerology, every number carries a quality. 1 is beginnings, 2 is balance and partnership, 8 is power and abundance, 9 is completion. When a number repeats, as on 11 November (11:11), 12 December (12:12) or 8 August (8:8), its quality feels amplified. Angel numbers work the same way: a repeating sequence you keep noticing is taken as a gentle message.

If you'd like to understand your own numbers first, start with your life path number.

11:11: align first, then manifest

11:11 is the best known portal, linked with new beginnings and intuition. My advice is always the same: shift your own energy first, then set your intention. Begin with a short meditation to bring mind, body and soul together.

Then, at night, once you feel calm and settled, move into the 11:11 night rituals below. Keep your intention simple, clear and kind.

12:12: the bay leaf ritual

12:12 is a portal of completion and moving to the next level. For it I share a bay leaf ritual with two leaves, one to manifest and one to release.

  1. At 12:12 noon, write your wish on a dry bay leaf, in the present tense, as if it has already come true.
  2. Keep this wish leaf for 21 days on your altar, under your mattress or in a wooden box. After 21 days, burn it safely and blow the ash into the air, or bury it in soil.
  3. At 12:12 at night, write what you want to let go of on a second bay leaf and burn it safely.

On the leaves I also wrote two angel numbers:

  • 1176: new beginnings (1), spiritual insight (7) and material blessings (6). It is a reminder that inner work starts to show outer results, and that you are protected while you rebuild. Trust the timing.
  • 858: change, power and abundance. It is a number of release and rebirth: let go of what no longer serves your growth, and make room for what comes next. Say with intention: "I release with grace, I receive with ease."

Always burn leaves over a fireproof dish, away from curtains, and never leave a flame unattended.

8:8 and the Lion's Gate

The Lion's Gate is the period around 8 August, when the Sun is in Leo. It is linked with courage, abundance and stepping into your power. As the portal was closing, I drew two tarot cards for the last two nights:

  • Seven of Pentacles: patience. You have planted the seeds; now tend them and let them grow without digging them up to check.
  • Three of Swords: heartache that needs to be released. Acknowledge the hurt honestly instead of carrying it into the next cycle.

Together they say: release the pain, then keep watering what you have started. The remedies for both nights are in the video.

888: release one thing, attract one thing

The energy of 8 can stay with you well beyond the date. A simple 888 practice:

  1. Choose one thing to release and work with it for 8 days in a row.
  2. Choose one thing to attract and work with it for 8 days in a row.
  3. Write each one daily, and don't miss a day.

Discipline is the key. Eight days of steady attention does more than one dramatic night.

888 is also the code of balance. Use it when life feels lopsided: repeat 888 and let energy flow wherever it is needed most, whether that is work, rest, money or relationships.

999: the cosmic timetable of release and manifestation

9 is the number of completion, so the 999 portal is a good time to set up a rhythm you can keep all year. I call it a cosmic timetable, and it follows the Moon.

  1. Release from Poornima (full moon) to Amavasya (new moon). Write the one blockage you most need to shed on a sheet of paper, and write it again every day on the same paper, without missing a day. At Amavasya, burn it safely and blow the ash away, or bury it in soil or a plant pot.
  2. Manifest from Amavasya to Poornima. On a new paper, write your most desired wish every day in the present tense, as if it has already happened. At Poornima, burn or bury it.
  3. Repeat the cycle each month.

Do it not from desperation but from the idea of creating abundance of every kind, health, wealth, relationships and spirituality, for yourself and everyone around you.

Angel numbers on ordinary days

Not every portal is on the calendar. One night I noticed the time was 12:39 while the Brahmakamal, a rare flower that blooms for a single night, was opening. Angel number 1239 is linked with new beginnings, self-discovery and keeping a positive outlook. It asks you to trust your intuition, follow your dreams and use your creativity.

When a number keeps appearing for you, pause, take a breath and ask what it might be pointing you towards.

What portals are not

Portal days are reminders, not deadlines. You haven't missed your chance if you forget one, and no date can guarantee a wish, a sum of money or a relationship. Rituals work best alongside real action, and they never replace professional advice on health, money or legal matters.
