Tarot, astrology or numerology: which reading is right for your question?

People often ask me, "Which one should I book?" It is a good question. Astrology, tarot and numerology all offer insight, but they look at your life from different angles, and each shines for a different kind of question.

Here is how I think about it.

Vedic astrology: the big picture and timing

Your birth chart is a map of your whole life: your temperament, your strengths, the areas that ask more of you, and, most importantly, timing. Through the dasha system and planetary transits, astrology can show which phase of life you are in and when a period is likely to shift.

Best for:

• Understanding yourself and your life themes
• Career direction and when to make a move
• Marriage timing and compatibility
• "Why has the last couple of years felt like this, and when does it change?"

You'll need: your date, time and place of birth.

Tarot: a specific situation, right now

Tarot reads the energy around a particular question at this moment. It is wonderful for untangling a situation that feels confusing: what is really going on, what you may not be seeing, and how things are likely to unfold if you continue on the present path.

Best for:

• A specific decision ("Should I accept this offer?")
• A relationship or friendship that feels unclear
• Feeling stuck and wanting fresh perspective
• When you don't know your birth time

You'll need: nothing but your question.

Tarot reading

Numerology: names, dates and life path

Numerology works with the numbers in your date of birth and the letters of your name. It describes your core nature and purpose (your life path number), the theme of the year you are in (your personal year), and whether a name, a brand name or a date carries the energy you want.

Best for:

• Choosing or checking a baby's name or a business name
• Picking a date for a launch, a move or a wedding
• Understanding your life purpose in simple terms

You'll need: your full date of birth, and the name you want checked.
